There are several award-winning vineyards and locations where you can create and sample your own wines in New Jersey. Take some time to explore the hottest wine spots near Monroe Township.

Become a part of the winemaking experience by crafting your very own custom wine. You can be involved in choosing the type of grape, where it’s grown, the barrel type, and even the amount of aging time. You will be involved in all four stages of winemaking. From crushing and pressing, to racking and corking, you’ll be personally involved in the whole process, which makes the wine that much sweeter. You can even have a custom-made label for your bottle! This is another spot where you can craft your own custom wines. You get to select the grape variety, how it’s barreled and aged, and even the label that is on the bottle. It’s a fun experience from start to finish, and so rewarding when you take that first sip. Share a handmade bottle of wine with friends that you created!

This quaint little spot was started in 2001 by a group of friends. Three men wanted to try their hand at making some wine, and they found out that they were pretty good at it. Over the years, it became a thriving business and a fully operational vineyard. They encourage bringing your furry friend along to enjoy the scenery with you while you sip on wines. The gold medal-winning Cabernet Franc is a must have when you visit. You’re also able to bring light snacks with you to their tasting room. Just make sure to read up on their policies so you don’t run into any issues when you get there.

Hours: Monday-Saturday 11am-6pm, Sunday 11am-5pm

Drop in anytime they are open for a traditional wine tasting experience; just make sure that you get there at least 30 mins before they close. You can get 10 samples for $5, and if you toss in an extra $1, then you get to keep the glass! This winery is a family owned and operated business that started back in 1988. They have a wide variety of styles to try. There are anything from sweet reds to dry whites, and everything in between. There are even sangria and other unique blends. You must try their 2014 gold medal-winning Chambourcin when you come!

You don’t have to travel far to enjoy a fabulous glass of wine. You have several options nearby, in and around Monroe Township, NJ.
